Starting a business is a complicated affair. The worst part of this is actually getting the capital together to get the company off the ground. Lets face it, you need money to make money. All the banks in South Africa provide business loans so you can try any of these. The problem here is that they need to be sure that you will be able to make enough money out of your business to pay them back. Take this example. When applying for a business loan at Standard Bank you need to provide the usual letter of intent, business proposal which includes a detailed financial plan and all the other necessary paperwork. On top of this you have to show evidence that your business is active. Here you need to supply the bank with references from some of your existing clients. This reference needs to state that you have supplied a service to these clients.

Regarding help with a business plan (BP) it’s an extremely easy process. Most start-up businesses use what is known as a template to get the ball rolling. A template business plan allows an individual to use a structured layout that consists of relevant headings and sections. However you may need to remove or may have to add your own sections and headings to the BP, this allows you to customise the BP to the needs of your business.
